Lounging & Leisure Outfits for Fall & Winter

Leisurely On Trend

When the weather drops nothing feels quite like being warm and comfortable with some warm tea to relax and enjoy yourself. Whether you're on the couch or hair with your computer warming up your legs, or drinking a cup of tea, and curled up in a warm blanket reading a book. Or, maybe you're more ambitious than that, and are organizing the house. Whatever you choose to do, doesn't mean you can't look and feel stylish, while remaining comfortable at the same time. Easy Summer Style: The Maxi Dress

The Maxi Edition

The maxi dress is a great versatile piece to have in the summer months. Many say, once they start wearing them, they quickly become a go-to essential piece in their summer wardrobe. It protects your skin from the elements, due to it's long length. It flows well, whether standing still or moving, allowing your skin to breathe, and sweat to escape. It also is good length, so it can be worn to many occasions, including formal ones.

Dressy Summer Outfits

In my last post I gave some casual summer outfit ideas, which gave me the idea to also do summer outfits for more special occasions, where you need to dress more formally. With these types of occasions, it’s always a good idea to put your best foot forward, put in more of an effort when picking out what your going to wear, so you can look great, feel comfortable, and enjoy being there. When it comes to dressing up, some people don’t always have a clear understanding of what is acceptable, or needed for each type of situation. I hope this guide can be of some help.

Casual Summer Outfits

Casual summer outfits are all about being comfortable, but you can still be stylish. When dressing casually, the first priority is to be comfortable in what you're wearing for whatever you're going to be doing. Flats, or shoes with slight heels will be the most convenient when you are relaxing, or have a lot of walking to do. Sunglasses are important to take with you (unless the sun's gone down) to shield your eyes. Hats are also great for keeping the sun's rays at bay. All these things will also keep you more comfortable.

Fashion Habits to Break

Many of us have fallen into the pack of what others around us are wearing and doing, without thinking for ourselves that it may not be the best idea, in terms of fashion, style, or our health. It's time to ditch these habits, and make life easier, and better for ourselves.

Work Outfits for Spring and Summer

When the sun comes out and the weather heats up, there is a desire to wear more colorful and trendy outfits. Which can be more of an issue, when it comes to a work environment, where it is important to always look professional. Now depending on the type of work you do, and what the company policies are regarding what is and isn't appropriate, you may or may not have as much leeway. For the most part though there are ways to incorporate spring and summer trends and colors into your work outfits.

With Mother's Day just around the corner, and with it being the one day where everyone buys flowers, because everyone has a mother, but not everyone knows what to get her other than flowers and a card. Here are some ideas to help make the decision making process easier. But, no matter what, make sure to keep your mother in mind, what she likes, what she could use, or what she likes to pamper herself with.

Spring 2014 Trend to Try: Mid Heels

I love heels, but what I don't love about heels is how they can seem impractical at times. Whether you have quite a bit of walking to do, or have no room to carry an extra pair of shoes with you everywhere you go, that's where mid heels are a savior. These are in between a high heel, and flats. The heights vary from practically nothing to a good couple of inches, so you can have comfort and easy walking in one pair of shoes. This has to be one of my favorite trends to come out in years. I love the neutrality and practicality of some of these trends, but I think this could be one that saves many girls.

I have been working on eating, and snacking healthier lately, as it's been something my body has been wanting me to do, yet when other people are making food for you, it's difficult sometimes to turn it down, especially when I'm hungry. 8 Easy Ways Get Healthier

With spring already here for some, and on its way for others, everybody that isn't already involved in exercise as part of their lifestyle is probably feeling the urge to get active. I find the cooler weather can make me feel lethargic and less energetic because I'm cold, and it's easier to curl up in my warm layers with my computer on my lap and not do anything. But spring...spring is another thing all together. Spring puts a spring in my step, makes me feel energized, happy, more confident and ambitious to tackle problems I maybe didn't feel the need to in the winter.

Favorite Looks from Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion week came and went so quickly that before you knew it it was Paris Fashion Week. Although it was short is was sweet with some of the best shows so far from the designers. So without further introduction, here is the rundown of my favorite looks from Milan:

Gucci

Gucci showed many pieces that even the most conservative dresser could find something they liked. The dresses and skirts were not more than just above the knee, and many of the coats were the same length. I love the simplicity of the looks, along with the inclusion of leather and subtle frills to add some texture and interest while maintaining an elegant, and conservative edge. I love the classic coat designs, there is a reason the classics are always in style - because they always look good, even if you change up the color palette - they are flattering.

Favorite Looks From London Fashion Week

Moving onto  London Fashion Week I must say I am loving the classic vintage feel to some of these shows, it brings back some of my favorite classic, elegant looks that I always love seeing in real life, not to mention in movies and plays also.

Dress Like a Lady

I love this look, my favorite collection from London Fashion is undoubtedly Vivienne Westwood's Red Label collection. The beautiful style of the early half of the twentieth century is luxurious, classic, and elegant - very lady like. All of these looks are a great reminder that beautiful clothes do make you stop and say "wow".

Favorite Looks from New York Fashion Week

My favorite looks from New York Fashion Week all fall into categories. I love classic-chic looks and classic color palettes for the most part, and as you will see the colors of all the looks are things that can be worn from year to year. Which evidently must be, because I love classic clothes that I can wear from season to season.

Winter White is a True Delight

I love white, so it's not surprising that I love to wear white in the winter. Besides if everything is covered in white, why shouldn't we wear white as well? Some of my favorite ways to wear white, can be seen in the pictures below. A beautiful head to toe all white look looks beautiful, as does a white with a contrast of another color.

Wear It Now: Black & White

Wearing black and white is one of the easiest trends to incorporate into your wardrobe, if you haven’t already. Wearing black combined with white adds a stunning contrast, and interest to any look, while the neutrals keep it practical for any occasion. Black and white are true classics. Wearing both at once creates an element of uniqueness, without standing out too much. By mixing and matching black and white pieces together, or wearing a black and white patterned piece, this is a trend that everyone, no matter how conservative can wear confidence and ease.

Classic & Chic Black Outfit Ideas

Continuing on with a black outfit theme, the looks here are all about a nice pop of red, with some gold to give a classic, rich, elegant look to both outfits. With red being such a bright, vibrant color, it's important to keep the amount of red in each outfit to a minimum, to keep it subtle, and therefore elegant. This is not to say that you cannot look elegant in lot's of red, or any other color, because of course you can. I am referring to outfits that are mainly black, with only a subtle touch of color to outfits, because sometimes it's nice to be noticed, without being noticed.
